First off let me say, I'm not a member of the 1911 cult. I love the look, the feel, and the history, but I don't own one. Sometime soon this needs to change.

I don't feel that I need a $2000 Wilson. I just want an entry level 1911. I've heard a bunch of good reviews for RI, and a couple of good ones for Metro Arms/Bersa's American Classics. I don't know a single thing about Citadel besides the fact that Bud's has two models in the $500 price range.

I'm looking for some real world TFL recommendations.

Which do you think is better?
Why?
Pros/Cons?
Catastrophic failures?
Ease of upgrade?
