Critique: Gunsight 250 Basic Pistol

I just returned from five days of training at Gunsight taking their 250 Basic Pistol course. Instructors were Eric Olds, Jon Dial, Chris Dwiggins, Walt Marshall and Jeff Gonzalez. Backgrounds included Special Forces, SEALs, Marine Recon, LAPD, and SWAT. In short, these guys have been and done. This was a larger than normal class with 30 students split into two groups, and then further divided into 2 relays in each group. Student/instructor ratio for each relay was 1:3, providing each student with close attention to his/her technique and special problems. The down side was that with this many students actual "trigger time" was not as great as either students or the staff would have liked.

I went to brush up on the basics (a good idea regardless of skill level), and came away with several new techniques in my "tactical toolbox."

Overall I found the instuction and new facilities to be excellent and highly recommend this course and Gunsight in general.
