A couple of things that you can use to help inform yourself and loved ones. My local PD/Sheriffs office(they're integrated) provides
this service, which maps incident reports. I'd imagine other PDs might have similar services. Also there's a company called alert id, which is a bit broader allows users to post info along with other LEA provided information.
