It is a target rifle manufactured between 1940-1969. The T designates it a target rifle. It came with Redfield aperture sights, 6 round detable magazine and a walnut, target-type stock with swing swivels. They also made a sporter version (S designation) with Marble's open sights and a checkered walnut stock between 1941-1956.
With the "US Property" stamps, I'd guess it started life as a military training rifle.
