I also have a 94AE (.45 Colt, but the action is about the same). As you know, "AE" stands for angle eject, so that's a plus for putting a scope on the rifle. I just checked and it looks like that ejection angle is around 60
o to 70
o.
I don't have a scope on my rifle, but I played around with a spare scope on top of the rifle and ejecting a few cases. It looks like the medium rings (1") will work. I definitely wouldn't use the low rings. You won't go wrong with the high rings if the parallax isn't a problem.
