I just acquired a Hopkins & Allen 38 S&W top break revolver. The serial number is I9625 and appears on the bottom of the handle, top of the frame, latch release, and cylinder. Under the left grip there are a C, 38, P, and 3. There are no markings under the right side grip. The top spine of the revolver reads "Hopkins & Allen Arms Co, Norwitch, CT U S A C. 8.98
