Go to your nearest or best gun store, handle several different models from the 1911's to the glocks and everything in between. You may well find one for much less than $700 that "Speaks" to you, or you may find one that is slightly more. But yes you will need to set some sort of specs or you will never narrow down the choices. i.e. is it primarily a target gun, plinker, SD for home or auto. Any particular models you have handled and liked??
