Either of these rifles are good and well regarded for their segment. Your Vepr should shoot well.

It's sad that some folks still make blanket statements about how any Eastern Block rifle are not accurate, poorly constructed firearms out there and haven't owned or shot one.

Wasn't double/triple tap a solution to the poor stopping power of the 5.56 rounds? Is double/triple tap necessary for well placed .308 rounds? Either way, don't get caught up in the caliber wars. Your .308 Vepr will serve you well.
