The problem with the cheap presses is that the shaft is usually not straight and causes the chuck to wobble. Put a drill bit in the chuck and drill into a scrap piece of metal. You will be able to tell if it is drilling straight or wobbling.
If it wobbles, you can't get a hole the exact size or location. But if you are shooting for "close enough" you'll be ok.
