My concern is that there appears to be no way whatsoever to appoint a special prosecutor. If I'm not mistaken, the current law specifies that only the DOJ can request a special prosecutor. In other words, there is no means available to appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate the DOJ without a bill being passed. And that would require approval from both houses as well as POTUS. Anyone really think there's any chance of that happening?
Right now? No. After the next election cycle? Possibly. All Grassley and Issa really have to do right now is publicize the heck out of this until November 2012. After the next election, there may very well be a very big shakeup in the DOJ.
