When I begin all we had were a few (very few) books and ourself to depend on, there was no help, with a large dose of common sense we learned as we went. I've never had a pierced primer nor blown primer nor a case separation, I should add no blown up rifles nor pistols either. We had Jack O'Connor, Elmer Keith along with Hatcher and his note book, our manuals such as they were were the very early Hodgdon guides. We read everything we could put our hand on, many articles were in Outdoor Life which O'Connor wrote plus he was the shooting editor. Much of this hobby is learn as you go, mostly it is the reading that will help keep you out of trouble. Learn what extrapolate means, that is a fancy word for guessing, above all be cautious..
