I used to make pillars in 2004 from 3/8" brass tubing.

But it had dissimilar metal issues with the steel receiver.

Then I did 3/8" stainless tubing, but it had maintainability issues.

Now I use 1010 steel tubing for pillar bedding Rem700s, 98 Mauers, Mosin Nagants, Howa 1500s, etc.
