Thank you for your reply. I was going to say, I just finished reading a post that a 870 is a 870, is a 870..yada yada..

I know this sounds stupid, but are all WM 870 SG built say in the 1980's chambered for a 2 3/4" round? If not, how will I know (stamped on the barrel?)?

If so, I just need to find a 28' or 30" vented barrl that is 2-3/4" chambered...right?

I understand the matte finish won't match...but again. I just want to go with my son once in a while, so having an extra SG for trap would be nice.
