+1 on Kraigs comment about early Banners.

My Dad (at my insistance) put a 4x Banner on my heirloom M88 Win in 1971. That dang scope is still on the M88 and I doubt I'll ever change it, unless it goes south.

It is not as bright as more modern optics, but it has held up very well.

But, several Bushnells I bought in the mid 80's, did not last long.
