to me magnification is second really
I use different scopes for different situations, even if scopes are advertised as wellrounded they seldom are IMO (I tried that with a 2,5-12 scope and it sucked
for my bolt I have a 1-4 and a 4,5-14, so is there something in that 0,5 range I am missing? don't think so
I think people where/are fooled by big numbers and think that high magnification is the end all. ligth transfusion and clarity are more important. now if they made a 1-4 with the same light transfusion as my 4-14 I would probably never use the big one
For my semi I only have a reddot and haven't felt the use for a scope yet
