I have had great luck with the published load for 38 spl using 5.5 gr Unique, (alway confirm data) using the Speer caps and #9 shot. Lighter loads, resulted in inconsistant pattern and sometime the capsul would not break and spread. Larger shot size like 8 or 7-1/2 seemed to have a slightly tighter pattern. These are very handy loads for off-road carry, a must for desert & woods.
