I usually don't purchase my ammunition at Walmart, which is not to say I never do. I picked up ammunition in 2 different calibers this fall and had the same experience both times. I paid for it at the sporting goods counter and placed the tagged bag in my cart. I then completed my shopping and checked out. I can not remember having ammunition walked to the front of any Walmart ever. I have seen them do it with firearms, but never ammo. I think if they started doing that, I would call Walmart headquarters and ask for clarification.
