Yeah, the pics on the Mossberg site of the folks hiking with a giant plastic tube full o' shotgun and survival gear is a bit much.
Unless you're hiking in 100yds from the car, I've never been in a situation where I would want all that crap strapped to me. Plus, when you need it, it's all packed away in a tube!
I can see the utility of it, and why folks would buy it, just not for active hiking and the like.

Just remember, when you pull the trigger, the bullets come out going very, very fast. So make sure to keep the weapon pointing away from you.
