tried it a while back, but I had the same results with clp.
I always clean the guns and lube with CLP then a swab down the barrel before storing. After a day of shooting on the range I come back run a brush down the bore a few times then swab clean and the rest of the gun is usually just wipe down and lube with clp where needed.
