I had my suspicions but unfortunately I don't have the right equipment or experience to control the cbore depths accurate enough on a drill press. I stayed material safe which means I'm likely crushing the wood a bit... and probably need to keep an eye on the screws backing out.

So simple on the surface it lured me in, but in reality this is not an easy task. If my grips loosen up I'll buy some new ones to replace. It was a fun couple evenings in the garage after work though...
