Sounds to me like the type of powder dispenser/drop will make a difference in which powder works best for your purposes.
I use AA#5 for .38spl, .357mag, and soon .357sig, 9mm, and 10mm. I get very consistent drops from my RCBS powder measure. Never more than .1gr difference from drop to drop.
