Going from magnum to standard is USUALLY OK but going the other way requires dropping the charge a little.
I'm concerned about your comment about 2 of 4 primers "starting to push their way out of the case". Do you mean the primers were protruding from the base of the case? This could be an indication of excess headspace or some other serious problem.
