Sure, one might make a little bigger channel in ballistics gel, but when it comes to real-world effects on the human body there is basically zero difference between 9mm, .40, and .45.
It constantly amazes me how many people think that by carrying a .45 or .40 they have some big advantage in "stopping power". Well, they don't. Ask any surgeon; they can't tell the difference without recovering the bullet.
