Could very well be made with Mexican tanned leather. They (reportedly) use horse urine for tanning and it stinks. I mean, really stinks.
Against your body the 'stain' is from body moisture. Not the fault of the holster.
I think you are stuck with an inferior product. Suck it up and move on.
