Yep..... same check is done ..... ahead of the purchase, when we get our Certificate or CHP ...... so it's one trip to the gun store, instead of two.... or three. We fill out the 4473, and they don't do a NICS check, as it's already been done: The "Computer" is never down, 'round here!

Nothing is free. Ever. Somebody is paying something....... even if it's only a 3 day wait for the check to come back. True, I paid a pretty penny for my CHP, but I was going to get that anyhow. And if I did not have that, the cost of the Certificate is worth not having to make several trips to town because the system is busy.......
