What exactly does "minor fitting required" mean?

I'm considering buying an ejector rod for my Blackhawk. I've noticed in the Brownell catalog, the sizes are slightly different. One is 3.8" and the other is 4.0". In fine print it states: "minor fitting required". What does that mean? Cutting, sanding, grinding or live with the stock part and avoid any headaches?
