I have used glue on main seams that only are two pieces of leather...not practical with a "welt" or two of extra leather added to the main seam inasmuch as I pre-punch the holes and need to align them when sewing. I have found via trial and error what works for me. Also, I prefer not to rely on glue to fill in the divots to get a finished look...I cut the leather proud and sand it flush, burnish to get a good seam.
