I patrolled a bad area, by myself, for awhile. I carried a S&W 650 as a BUG.
I could also, easily, carry 50 extra rounds in my pocket.
Greatest gun ever for gunfight? Maybe not. But, I could potentially stay in a fight a little longer until help got there with 50 extra rounds.
That was my thinking at the time.
