I bought a new Marlin XS-7 308 and a nice Vortex 4-12 scope for about $510.00 I paid 360 ish out the door for the rifle and about 150 ish for the scope. I really like the way it shoots. The trigger is nice and I can routinely make nice little clover leafs @ 100 yards with mine.
If you used your old scope you would have quite a bite of money left over from your budget to get ammo or other gear.
