First "battle" of the Civil War.
Benjamin Butler, a squinty-eyed New England attorney v. John Magruder.
It was a battle where Yankee fought Yankee (they met at a crossroad) and despite Confederate intervention, the Yankees still beat the Yankees (crossfire) thereby setting a precedent of Butler never winning a battle outside of a courtroom.
