sadly stories like yours involving glock are becoming more and more common. now the erratic ejection patterns are a problem with the generation 3 glocks as well. glock customer service is apparently getting tired of dealing with all the 'perfection' hitting the shelves and just don't seem to care anymore.
Glock just isn't the gold standard anymore.
