One of the interesting things i noticed when I looked at this list was Browning, a brand I normally consider to be expensive, is pretty competitive at the given MSRPs. In the $800, $900, and $1000+ I think they have my first choice.

I think their MSRP may be closer to actual retail than some of the others though, at least in the normal market.
