I don't have a place to plink so I have to do my shooting at my club which prohibits the use of any targets or hangers made of metal.
Champion makes some chalk discs that are OK to shoot. My girls shoot so well, though, that they are not very challenging.
I buy packs of Necco wafers in the candy shelf. These are flat discs of licorice-type candy. Taste sort of like the little valentine hearts with phrases on them.
They shatter nicely when hit, they are cheap and biodegradable.
