Bart B - .223 Rem is the cartridge, but the bullet is .224. I was confused as the OP until I downloaded the PDFs with the breakdown of the .223 Remington and it showed the specs of the bullet. That way I purchased the correct diameter bullets. Head is another term used for bullet. A lot of people refer to completed cartridges as bullets. Thankfully those are few and far between on this forum.
