Although these "Mexican standoffs" only happen in Hollywood. If you are staring down a barrel you shoot ASAFnP! If you draw on a BG with say... a knife and he pulls a gun you shoot once you can tell he is drawing a weapon. If he already has a gun you cannot afford to pause between the draw and shot, you decided to kill him once you started to draw.
