If running the bolt gets stiffer when hot- you've still got residual cosmoline in the chamber. a 12 ga. brush chucked in a cordless drill works wonders here...
If it's stiff all the time, polish the mating surfaces inside the bolt.
Shouldn't have to whack it, to run the bolt...
My sporterized MN bolt runs almost as smooth as my Savage (which aren't known for smooth actions...), nothing like a Rem 700 though...
