I have one. It's nice, but you are married to the monolithic rail. If I could do it all over again, I would get a Colt 6920 instead and install the free-floated handguard of my own choosing. I don't mind the fixed front sight post on the 6920, but if you can't deal with it, the 6940 has the folding front sight. Other than those two differences, they're pretty much the same rifle.
