Smitty, I wish I could help you as I am interested in a 20 gauge SR. If these serial numbers indicate anything at all, it seems that they started over with them after the first run. Maybe it can be interpretated that the gauge is first followed by the consecutive number. Only guessing. I have friends in the gun business but they won't talk until the old stock has been distributed. Some distributors probably have their old stock shipped, there probably are a lot of the first run out there.

Somebody on SGW might be able to assist.
