Maybe it's illegal where you are, but not in FL.
If you're going to use a suppressor both you and your lawyer need to be able to clearly and intelligently articulate why you used a suppressor. Around this part of the country people illegally inside your home aren't viewed in a good light and I can't remember the last time a homeowner was prosecuted for shooting someone in their home illegally in this county. YMMV
