Either a Ruger or a S&W. Out of the two, while I prefer S&W, I'd call Ruger the Glock or the revolver world. They make well made, reliable revolvers at a fair price. S&Ws are typically priced higher than Rugers but equally as good. Some might even say better.

That Taurus might fit the bill for you, but they can be pretty hit or miss with their QA. On top of that, their customer service is pretty suspect as well. I'd suggest staying far away from Taurus and I say that as a former Taurus owner.
