I agree completely. I don't think there is any right or wrong answer.
I also recognize the
possibility that the woman's "restraint" could as easily have been cowardice or freezing up rather than carefully considered, judicious restraint. Yes, whatever her motives, it worked out. But at one time the guy pointed a gun at her. If he had pulled the trigger, that would have removed possibly the only other armed person in the store from the equation.
In short, I don't fault her action, but I'm also not prepared to praise it.
