A few weeks back a member posted
a thread about the shot that Arnold the Barbarian made to save Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies.
I took off work early yesterday to partake of a bit of rimfire therapy.
Using two wig heads taped to a board at 10 yards,,,
I tried to recreate the scenario with the bad guy hiding behind Jamie Lee.
I loaded up five mags of ten rounds each,,,
Each shot was with the pistol hanging low with a relaxed arm,,,
I was shooting my trusty CZ-75B Kadet in DA mode using Federal Bulk Pack ammo.
On the very first shot I snapped the pistol up,,,
And nailed the bad guy exactly between his beady little eyes.
It went downhill from there.
Out of fifty rounds:
21 - Killed the bad guy
16 - Killed Jamie Lee
13 - Missed completely
Then I tried the same thing aiming with slow fire.
Out of fifty rounds:
48 - Killed the bad guy
1 - Jamie Lee lost an ear
1 - Missed completely
One more time using my Beretta NEOS Carbine.
Out of fifty rounds:
50 - Killed the bad guy
So in conclusion I determined two things:
- Shooting at wig heads is a blast.
- I'm not the guy to call to save a captive movie star.
