Did a little digging. If the serial is what it appears to be, U 135 029, it should be from the mid 80's, so I think wgsigs is correct, it's a nickel finish not stainless. Also, if the dating is correct the SRT is aftermarket, and given the parts that the SRT kit is comprised of, definitely check it out if you intend to trade/purchase. The grips would be consistent with a 226 of that era, which I should have noticed before
