I'm also plotting the purchase of a 696.
The N-frame is an ideal .44 Spec. platform, I just don't feel comfortable with the bulk in certain circumstances. Because of the noise issue, and concern with overpenetration, I've recently taken to loading the .357s with .38s. I'm hoping that what I lack in power will be made up for with faster repeat hits and better accuracy.
