What you should do while you're waiting is study up on the laws in your state and write a letter to your representatives telling them magazine limits are NOT effective and anything else you want to tell them.
If possible take a class (or two or more) the local classes will probably have very specific information for your area which is what you need. (Not that everything you read on the internets isn't true...).
The classes might be at a range where you can rent and try out some guns. This would be a good thing.
