Observation: when cocked in single action, I can watch the hand rotate the cylinder. When I pull the trigger after it is cocked I can watch the hand continue up a small distance but it is no longer in contact with the ratchet. I can see the point of the hand.
It leads me to believe the ratchet spring might be either weak or gummed up. Not sure if that is a reasonable conclusion.
