There was a recent-ish film called Haywire.
It was the story of a female agent who is double-crossed by her boss/handle (Ewan MacGregor) and she battles her way from Europe to exact her revenge.
Needless to say she relied on a gun a few times.
On a more flamboyant note, I suppose any Lara Croft scene qualifies...
