I don't think any of the wood on that rifle is original. The butt stock is wrong for a carbine and It looks like a take off from one of the commemoratives. Also, the forearm is checkered and I don't think that was an option in 1949.
I was responding to a thread on another site just yesterday about an M94 estimated to have been made in 1944. Checking the list of serial numbers I have, there is no record of M94s being made from post 1942 until 1949. I think his estimate of 1949 is pretty close to being correct. Whatever happened to the original wood may never be known but I don't think any of the wood is original.
