Was having trouble looking for good load for my original Vaquero when I remembered Taffin using this load and saying if it doesn't shoot with this load it just won't shoot (paraphrasing)... Tried it, and the Vaquero liked it. So did my other .45s. Only reason I don't use it as much now is the 20g of powder . Eats through a can pretty quick!

.45 Colt
20.0g IMR 4227, 255g SWC, CCI-350, 1030fps, 18 SD, 69 ES, 29 shots

.44Spec
17.5g IMR 4227, 240g SWC, CCI-350, 1047ps, 14 SD, 51 ES, 28 shots

Tried a bunch of loads in .44Mag, but didn't mark any as 'accurate' in my table. Ie, nothing stood out from 17.0g (1009fps) to 23.0 grains.(1250fps) in .5g increments.

In .357, I have 10.2g IMR 4227, CCI-550 under 158g SWC as accurate at 902fps. Went all the way up to 14.0g (1092fps) but again nothing else marked accurate in my tables.

YMMV.

That said, the .44Spec is right up their too... but the .45 Colt is still the king.
