I think it's more for those of us who wanted something similar to the P7 or 9mm Commander in size and weight. It's a pretty gun, too. Personally I'm torn between the K9 and the T9, though, since you don't lose much velocity in 9mm from 4" to 3.5" barrels, and the K9 still allows a full grip on the gun for a loss of one round and the gain of some concealability.
